About Me

Welcome to my blog for my handmade bridal jewelry business, AWR Designs. AWR Designs is a sole proprietor, owned and operated by me, Angela Walker, and is run completely out of my one-bedroom apartment (for now). AWR Designs strives to bring you excellent customer service, high quality products, and an enjoyable, memorable experience! I use high quality products in all of my handmade jewelry and accessories and I am always working diligently to bring you the best shopping experience possible.

I first took an interest in creating jewelry by being a member of a monthly beading kit club, where I would receive a bead/jewelry kit every month. For my wedding in January 2011, I decided to cut costs by making the jewelry for my entire wedding party. This was my first attempt at designing and creating something on my own and the jewelry turned out very nice. Everyone loved their jewelry sets and then I started getting several requests for bridal jewelry from friends and coworkers. I actually heard about Etsy from my wedding photographer, and I immediately checked it out and set up my shop. I have also participated in several local craft shows and am a member of the NA Crafters, Etsy Success, SRAJD, and other Etsy teams. I know first hand just how stressful planning a wedding can be, so my goal is to help brides by making the jewelry buying (whether it's for themselves or as gifts for their bridesmaids and flower girls) as easy and painless as possible. When a bride requests a custom order from me, she will soon realize just how helpful I can be. Aside from helping with designs and color combinations, I also make sure to ask all of the important questions, such as wedding date, when she needs everything by, the lengths she needs for necklaces/bracelets, whether or not she needs clip-on earrings for anyone, and so much more. Part of my process is to take and send pictures of different designs and color combinations to my customer via email or convo to help in the decision making process, all the way to the final product, where I will send pictures of the final product, to ensure she is completely satisfied before I ship everything out. My reviews show how much all of this means to my customers. When I hear back from them about the joy and happiness they have wearing their handmade jewelry, or how excited they are to give the jewelry sets to their bridesmaids and flower girls, it makes what I do so very rewarding!! :-)

I also began creating beaded and chain lanyards in 2011, after I had received several requests for lanyards from coworkers at my previous full time day job. I recently opened up another Etsy shop, just for my lanyards. You can find my lanyards in my lanyard shop,https://www.TheLanyardNecklace.Etsy.com

I started this blog awhile back, for the purpose of sharing posts on several of the custom bridal jewelry orders that I have received over the years, to show the process of what I do to get custom orders designed and completed, and then by showing actual wedding pictures that my customers send to me with their bridal party members wearing their handmade jewelry made by me. Please take a look through my blog posts and see some of the bridal jewelry orders that I have done, and let me know if there is something I can create for you! :-)
